Very lively Visayan love song. The Spanish influence is very evident. It's not one of the better known Visayan songs but is one of the better composed ones. Listen to it!I think it's a real shame that Visayans do nothing to conserve these songs which are being lost to obscurity. Why are Filipinos SO in love with really dumb and poorly composed music. No body thinks rap is badass anymore but Filipinos seem to think it still is. What a bunch of simpletons. Grrrr! And don't get me started on those annoying American wannabe love ballads like "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal". What a cookie cutter song.I'm flabergasted that songs like this are forgotten while bland Tagalog songs like Leron Leron Sinta, Bahay Kubo, Katakataka, Carinosa, Dahil Sa Iyo et al are celebrated as the best. Just because they are Tagalog.Filipino Pilipino Philippine Tagalog Visayan Bisaya Cebuano Philippines Pilita Corrales Corales Matud Nila Usahay Bisan Sa Damgo Lang Ilocano Ilokano Dahil Sa Iyo 'yo Kapantay Ay Langit Bisadak Dahil Sa Isang Bulaklak Bayan Ko Nasaan Ka Irog Carinosa Tinikling Hiligaynon Ilonggo Ilongo Waray Fado Latin Nana Mouskouri Amalia Rodrigues Gaano Ko Ikaw Kamahal Mahiwaga Tunay Lawiswis Kawayan Leron Leron Sinta Aking Bituin Chitchiritchit Sitsiritsit Sinisinta Kita Rosas Pandan Balitaw Huling Awit Mutya Ng Pasig Ti Ayat Ti Maysa Nga Ubing Ay Kalisud Bituing Marikit Lupang Hinirang Bayang Magiliw Pambansang Awit Sharon Cuneta Regine Velasquez Kuh Ledesma Flamenco Spanish Cebu Baguio Mariza

toiletholder, sometimes some people use the word dialect to refer a language they consider as regional and inferior as compared to the language they speak. most of the time they don't speak this so called dialect. anyway, i found an affordable book to learn ilocano but not cebuano. how strange considering more filipinos speak it as a first language.

Now, if you're not absolutely sure about what you're FYIing a smart person with, don't FYI him. Thank you.

Cebuano and Tagalog are LANGUAGES and EVERYONE who studies the LANGUAGES of the Philippines is well aware of the fact that almost every Filipino is WRONG in refering to their languages as "dialects." The Tagalog-run Manila government refered to languages like Ilocano and Cebuano as dialects because they had to categorise them as subordinate froms of communication. Ilocano is a language, Cebuano is a language, Kampampangan is a language.

No. That's what most Filipinos think of them as. But if you study languages a "dialect" is a variation on a language: Portuguese from Portugal vs. Portuguese from Brazil. And English from England, U.S., Canada, and Australia are dialects of the english languages. They are still mutually intelligible and they can communicate using their native versions of the language. The distinction between languages requires that there is low to no mutual intelligibility.

when i said "you didn't even answered my last question academically" it doesn't mean you need to quote a textbook, lol! go back to your Philosophy 101. I'm so frustrated! i'm expecting a greater reasoning from you...dies nefastus ephexis!...

LOL! I fell from my chair laughing at your replies,"telling the truth" means putting "kapwa pilipino" down?! I'm proud to be pinoy,as a matter of fact,i will fight with those pretentious filipinos who will bring shame to my beloved country..As a concerned citizen,i will reveal and expose the truth,it has nothing to do with pulling "kapwa filipino" down, just to awake them,if i will keep silence it means i am supporting their decadence morality..the horrendum pudendum of contemporary philippines!

ONE MORE TIME: what i'm saying is: PUTTING YOUR KAPWA FILIPINO DOWN IS BAD. no argument will make it right..to end this argument i'll leave you with this note:Romans 13:9 "Love your neighbour as yourself."
crashdata (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Bottom line: my argument is to prove that putting your kapwa filipino down can also be considered "crab mentallity"...(bad mouthing is bad).. what your doing is: 1.) your not minding your own business. (and as a filipino we should do this more often to avoid jealousy)2.) and saying "your only telling the truth": does not mean you have a right to put your kapwa filipino down. its just like "making fun of a cripple person" it might be funny but its not right.

if you think about it like you said "intellectually". American Idol is a competition show where u have judges...judges job is to critisize, pick the peformance apart so to speak...what i'm saying is "YOUR QUESTION IS IRRELEVANT"3.) "then, why you did agree with my own definition of crab mentallity?"actually i did not agree I acknowledge it...and i said there is more to it than just your diffinition. in short: "crab mentallity" is open to many diffintion not simply black & white.(cont'd)

this is my last post....this is not going anywhere..ok i'll make sure u can understand what I'm saying..but wait... are u reading ur argument? because it doesn't make sense....1.) what do u mean "you didnt even answered my last question academically?" what does that even mean? do you want me to quote a text book? 2.) "also your answer to my first question was parallel to it"...... Ok let me break it down: basically what i said your first question is irrelevant. (cont'd)
