siroma- if you want to know more about this subject and open your eyes up to it, i would recomend taking some acid, like the kid in the video has. crossland, i do like your concept of the 5 demention however. i myself do ponder these types of questions with life but have only thought about the 4th. good touch on the 5th.

The first dimension can't exist without the second because the line would have to be infinitely narrow. The fourth dimesion has always existed but it wasn't until we came around that it was recognized as a dimension. Because we could not exist without the first three dimensions, time is a result of the previous dimensions. Choice can't be the fifth dimension because it is just a combination of the first four. When a choice is made we are altering the first three dimensions over a period of time.

Correction: Remove the "not" in the first sentence.

I don't believe you can not bring anything from the 5th dimension. Dimensions are not structured this way mathematically. The 5th dimension exists in superposition to the lower dimensions. As we make observations, take actions, etc. in the 4th, we collapse the wave function and a time line is established (reality is created). We can not at this point jump between time lines because the observer remains in the current frame of reference all the time, as far as we know now.

That said, now that I've thought about it more. That would mean that if we could break the barrier, the speed of light, then it would be possible to 'travel' through time. To understand, look back at my jump comment.

Part 2 of my correction: We cannot 'collapse' time, time slows down when you approach the speed of light; so the faster you go, the less time affects you.(I don't mean to destroy your beliefs, I could be wrong but I think this idea is more believable than the fact that we can 'stop' time for ourselves. |
