if someone wants to find some interesting brazilian artists,look for these:Mutantes(with Rita Lee),Módulo 1000,Secos e Molhados(with Ney Matogrosso),Caetano Veloso(late 60's and early 70's),A Barca do Sol,Egberto Gismonti,Hurtmold,Pato Fu,Tom Zé,Nação Zumbi...

I remember writing this fairly late at night. So my brain was shut off for those two I suppose. I've got a zillion other suggestions if you want. Sonic Youth, Xiu Xiu, Miles Davis (early 70s is the best), Philip Glass, Throbbing Gristle, Sun Ra and the obvious...late era Beatles. (My favorites to add to any experimental list)

The Velvet Underground (although not electronic), Can, Kate Bush, Talking Heads (circa Remain in Light), David Bowie (Low), Brian Eno, Bjork, Goldfrapp, Laurie Anderson, Air, Bark Psychosis, Lali Puna, The Notwist, Beck, Besnard lakes, Cibo Matto, Chemical Brotrher, Sigur Ros etc. I'm sorry that's a rather long list. I know Avant Garde composers too, if you want to know a few good ones. |
