These are typical pubblic demonstration of techniques, but Aikido applied in a real situation consists of a hit on vital point/unbalancing/avoiding and intercepting the attack, than there is the projection or pin techniques. This is the true Aikido, unfortunately, never we will see it in demonstrations. The founder of Aikido said "70% of Aikido is striking, 30% is technique".
