My way of judging these is whether or not(or how much)they make me cry.Though this is an operatic cliche,it is still gut-wrenching, and a tenor who can wring new dimensions out of it is gifted indeed.I notice how different the laughter is in each case-artificial, defiant,contemptuous,grief-stricken,angry, even hysterical.Domingo wins here:no one else portrays naked, raw emotion with such conviction/commitment.And he drags the costume around like a rag and cries into it. Vesti la giubba, indeed!

Nobody's better than Maestro Pavarotti. But I like this performance of Domingo.

Bravo, Domingo. Grande entre los grandes.

I think that this song, is better sung by Domingo, Because he puts more feelings and pavarotti just sings technical |
