Everyone seems to miss this point that she is taking a revolutionary step towards portraying a part of society in Iran that most people seems to only know as gossip (yek kalaagh, chel kalaagh). Of course the storyline is a bit cliché of other movies but the mere idea of showing this type of things on the screen (in Iran) for the people (of the world) to observe and most importantly letting everyone know that this is a true story, I think is revolutionary and awakening.

I don't think it makes sense to generalize something based on specific experiences she may have come across, give an impression to the world through the movie, all Muslim men treat their women badly.This is exactly they attempted to do it in "not without my daughter."They do similar generalization attempts all the time on Pat Robertson 711 channel by using specific experiences, or may be made up stories, and portray all Muslim men are bad with their women, or their wives.
