I don't pretend to be some great Sun Ra scholar, I'm just a new fan. This or 'Outerspacways Incorperated' are probably my favorite song by the Ark.

I don't pretend to be some great Sun Ra scholar, I'm just a new fan. This or 'Outer Spacways Incorperated' are probably my favorite song by the Ark (so far)... Does anyone know the name of the sister who sings on this, and is she the same woman who sang on 'Space is The Place'?

WHAT??? I saw them many times, workin for Ra meant living there 24/7 & constant practice, it was described by them like "joining the army" sounds reeeeeeaaaaal fun; they were serious but your opinion is a joke

shows what YOU know; John Gilmore was as great as Coltrane, & Ra was a genius beyond your capacity to assimilate

Sorry, the previous was an answer to the comment about The Residents, but it somehow got misplaced. Maybe 'twas my mistake.
aTrulyPowerfulSpirit (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
probably. Then, Disco3000 also did. But they themselves didn't mean their music seriously. What they were about was parody, farce, "contra prog", that kinda thing. Some did take them seriously for mistake.

am I right to think that this is where He was struck by that illness already, therefore we see so little of his own participation?this music will live 4ever. Yes, He is a genius. |
