I understand what you are trying to say about the power of her voice.. When she lets it out, it's definitely bigger than the typical coloratura. Her voice is even bigger now than it was when she did this concert.

to add to my comment though, i love how in between her cadenzas she just throws in random words from the libretto of this song, cause she's not exactly sure where she is, lol. look at a score for this song, and you'll see what i mean, because it's pretty funny.

no no, i'm not calling her one, so calm the fuck down before you get rude. i was just saying that the power of her voice at times can be that of a lyric or spinto soprano, but by no means is she one. she can barely get through violetta, even at the height of her career she couldn't. but her voice it self can have the power at times, just not consistently throughout an entire, opera, maybe a concert though. jeez, rude.

Spinto?!? Soubrette with coloratura facility.

Spinto tenor 83 you asked about Sills and it is back on and yes I agree with you.

you have GOT to be kidding me. lyric or spinto soprano? no.

All I can say - this is how it should be done. Brava!

this is one of the truest examples of a very versatile colorature in today's world. she can do the bell song with the light coloratura sound you expect her to have, but also whack this out with the power of a lyric if not SPINTO soprano. |
