anybody out there have any videos from super typhoon PAKA that hit us on Dec.16 1998 I would like to see that.. we had no power for more than a month in Dededo, it was crazy...

The storm was forecast by the JTWC [Joint Typhoon Warning Center] to pass Guam to the east and move up the Northern Marianas chain. It wasn't until 15 hours before the storm made landfall on Guam that they changed the forecast. They got the wind speed correct at 150 mph with gusts to 184, but they were negligent in forecasting it to pass just off the coast of Guam. Many people were caught off guard by the late announcement that it would make a direct hit. This was a nightmare of a storm. JD

Great footage! Was this during typhoon Pongsona? You look like you all fared better than most. Good job at keeping things positive with the laughter, beer and stupid stunts...always makes things interesting and so much better to deal with.
