Hardly the only one, really? What about Western Europe and the newly established NATO? Pretty powerful ally to have, and by the way, the Cuban missiles were the ONLY major defense against America that Russia had. So how is that not an even trade?

This situation could have been avoided, if only Kennedy would have had the audacity to remove bombs from Turkey pointed at Russia. That would be sensible wouldn't it?

You are a complete ass. Apparently you don't understand the severity of the situation.. The entire US could have been NUKED. If we were nuked, NORAD would report back immediately by nuking the hell out of the Soviet Union, thus turning half the world into a nuclear wasteland, killing billions.Do some research before you start a fight on the internet, kid.
